Netting that takes a hit
A sports net is struck thousands of times, so it is built differently from a safety net: knotted high-tensile strands that hold their shape under impact, a mesh sized so the ball cannot push through, and a galvanised frame and top cable strong enough to carry a roof net across a wide span.
What sports nets actually are
A sports net is an impact-rated net enclosure — sides and usually a roof — hung on a frame of poles and cables around a play area. It keeps the ball in, protects windows, cars and passers-by outside, and on a terrace it doubles as a safety barrier at the edge.

Materials and fixing
We use knotted high-tensile netting in HDPE or nylon, which holds its shape under repeated impact, with a 1.5 to 2 inch mesh sized to the ball in play — tighter for cricket than for football. The net hangs on a frame of galvanised steel poles, grouted into the ground or bolted on base plates on a terrace, with a galvanised steel wire rope run along the top to carry the roof net. Enclosures can cover the sides alone or the sides and roof, at ground level or on a terrace.

Sports Nets — common questions
How large an area can you net?
Anything from a single practice lane to a full box-cricket ground. The limit is the span the poles and top cable can carry, which we work out during the site survey.
Can sports nets be fitted on an apartment terrace?
Yes. On a terrace the poles are bolted on base plates instead of being grouted, and the netting also acts as a safety barrier at the edge. We check the terrace slab and parapet before recommending a layout.
What mesh size is right for cricket?
Cricket needs a tighter mesh than football so the ball cannot push through. We fit 1.5 to 2 inch mesh and size it to the ball in play.
Do you work with associations, schools and turf owners?
Yes — sports netting is usually commissioned by apartment associations, clubs, schools and turf owners. We survey the site and give a detailed quote for the complete enclosure.
